Mikes Property - Mill Cottage Kings Lynn
Built by an independent builder in north Norfolk, Mill Cottage is a cotemporary home constructed of traditional brick and block cavity walls. It has a steel structure to create an open layout with central staircase and double height ceiling area and a covered carport. The exterior steel to form the carport was wrapped in traditional timber and brick to give this wonderful property that traditional look. |

Tim and Tracey's Extension
The couple are building an extension to their home. Traditional green oak timber frame was the look of choice. This is currently in the construction phase with a plan to complete over the summer. For this project we designed the foundations, the building frame and other structural elements such as the lintels over the new openings into the main house and the masonry supporting walls. This is an ongoing project and will be updated with more photos as they become available. |

L Shaped Timber Framed Extension
This green oak timber frame uses a combination of queen post and raised collar trusses supported by posts, with traditional purlins supporting the rafters over. Traditional mortise and tenon interlocking joints have been used with hidden steel bolts to provide a traditional look. Building Control require structural calculations to approve the design of all of the roof members in a custom build like this one. This is where we step in and design a solution to achieve the desired look and complete structural stability. The structure will be clad in brick to finish the outside, with the timber remaining exposed internally. |
